Watch Out! Janet Jackson Still Got It!

Just like the title says it’s worth saying again that at the age of 45, Miss Jackson still got it! I was fortunately able to buy floor seats for one of her sold-out shows in New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for her “Number Ones, Up Close and Personal” tour for Saturday, March 19. Unlike most of her previous tours she had done in the past, this time around, it wasn’t about the pyrotechnics and overly dramatized story telling. Janet choose to go very simple this time while performing her number one hits exclusively from her latest greatest hits album “Number Ones” released late 2009.
The purpose of this low-budget world tour was to be “up close and personal” with her fans as the name states while performing in smaller and more intimate venues around the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. So if you’re expecting all the lights, glamour and deep-melodic interludes that make distinguish Janet Jackson’s tours from any other pop star out there, you maybe disappointed.
However don’t be discouraged by that fact, The “Number Ones” tour had been designed to make you feel you were literally on the stage with her and I felt that way. Janet did not disappoint! She danced from beginning to end, (with a few ballads in the middle) with attitude and sharp dance moves that made her famous for over twenty years. Hits like “Control,” “Nasty,” “Rhythm Nation,” and “All For You,” brought many down memory lane while some of her most recent hits such as “Feedback,” “Nothing” and “Make Me” brought her youngest fans screaming to an all-time high.
The concert was definitely a must see and I proudly give it 5 out of 5 stars for her outstanding performance, stage presence (wardrobes were sexy!), and overall show. Janet will continue to tour around the United States in cities such as, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Washington D.C. and many others throughout late March and April before beginning her European leg of the tour. Unfortunately still no dates in Florida have been announced and it looks like there won’t be any.

Janet Jackson opens up the show with "Pleasure Principle," "Control", "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and "Feedback"

Janet eases the audience after a heart pumping dance intro with "Nothing," a slow ballad in which she wrote as the theme song for Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married Too" in which she co-starred in last year.

Janet performs "Doesn't Really Matter," "Escapade," "Love Will Never Do (Without You)," "When I Think of You," and "All For You" in her Toronto tour date of the "Number Ones" Tour.

Janet performs a tribute to her brother Michael Jackson with "Scream" and goes hard on her 1989 classic "Rhythm Nation"

Lastly the encore (closure) of her show... "Diamonds," "The Best Things in Life Are For Free," "Make Me" and "Together Again"
